What is the DCMA 14-Point Schedule Assessment?

The DCMA 14-Point Schedule Assessment is an industry-standard framework developed by the US Defence Contract Management Agency to evaluate the quality and integrity of project schedules. Originally developed for Department of Defense contracts, it is now widely used across defence, nuclear, infrastructure and construction programmes in the UK and internationally.

The assessment evaluates 14 criteria including logic integrity, relationship types, float management, constraint usage, resource loading and critical path validity. A schedule that passes the 14-point check is considered well-built, logic-driven and capable of supporting reliable forecasting and earned value reporting.
